I loved working with Kristin! My husband and I decided to not have a videographer and so I was quite concerned about finding “the perfect photographer” because that was going to be the only documentation of our wedding. Right off the bat, Kristin made me feel so comfortable and put me at ease and after 5 minutes into our first meeting my worries completely melted away. I knew she was going to do an incredible job and I never again worried about the photography, which did wonders for my nerves. Then the day of, she was a dream. If I had to describe her in 3 words it would be: joyful, professional, and calming. She seamlessly directed the bridal party, family group photos, and everything else in such a way that it felt like our pictures took 2 minutes! And she did so while wearing her charming smile. Kristin was even able to give me a “sneak peak” of some wedding photos just days after the wedding – talk about above and beyond! The pictures themselves are works of art I will cherish forever. I still look at them and cannot believe they are my actual wedding photos because they look as though they came right out of an editorial shoot. I was most excited about Kristin’s expertise at using real film for some of the shots and I am still blown away by how those pictures turned out. My personal favorite is one of my husband’s grandmother. The photo catches her mid laugh, right after the ceremony and is in black and white. It’s one of those rare moments where her personality and spirit is rendered almost perfectly, which really is Kristin’s specialty. Kristin was incredible!! Choosing a wedding photographer is one of the most important decisions to make throughout the process — look no further because Kristin is your girl! She blended in as if she were a bridesmaid and life long friend — people are still talking about how amazing Kristin is. When we received our photos, it was waterworks. We partnered with Kristin to shoot our engagement session and wedding last year and it was one of the best decisions we made. Kristin is simply wonderful. She’s the constant professional and full of southern charm and warmth. Kristin was responsive and attentive to the details and wishes that we had along the way. While pregnant, she came up to Chicago (with her equally as wonderful husband) to shoot our engagement session. She made me and my husband feel at ease and relaxed. The wedding was nothing different. She was patient with last minute request and captured moments that I didn’t even remember from the wedding (it happens so fast). Every asset we got from Kristin, from the photo box for our engagement session and wedding to the full albums for us and our parents, was treated with meticulous care and beauty. At the end of the day, Kristin’s partnership with us felt far beyond a service but more like a friendship. Our family has had two fantastic experiences with Kristin’s photography. She traveled to France with us to shoot my sister’s wedding and the moments she captured were incredible. It was so much fun to spend two weeks with her because besides an amazing photographer, she is also a wonderful person!
So of course it was my greatest hope that she would be able to photograph my wedding as well, which she did! Our wedding day was the best day of our lives so far, and Kristin’s beautiful photographs allow us to relive it over and over. She helped everyone to feel comfortable in front of the camera, worked quickly, and saw moments that no one else did and made them works of art. Dave and I were blown away with the photos Kristin took during our wedding weekend. From the kitschy margarita and flamingo themed rehearsal dinner to the more formal and classic wedding ceremony and reception, Kristin found every moment that was important and had an eye for the special details we wanted to remember forever. She also found a way to be in 5 places at once, capturing those moments that were truly special between Dave and I and our guests. Working with Kristin makes the wedding planning process feel much less dramatic than it actually can be. She was calm, consistent, and communicative from Day 1 and fully capable of creating an atmosphere that was natural, fun and affirming for Dave and me. For that reason, the moments she finds in her lens are authentic and genuine. Where do I begin with how much I love Kristin and her work? We hired Kirstin to do our birth photography very last minute. Our original photographer fell ill and Kristin kindly offered to shoot the birth. Her sweet spirit was the perfect fit for us. I never felt uncomfortable, even though we had just met. My pregnancy was high risk and I knew that our son had the chance of going straight to the NICU since we had to deliver so early. She captured the day flawlessly. Every emotion we felt are in the images. I imagine it was hard to watch, because our son was sick and we were terrified. Her professionalism is second to none and her kindness carried me through the most difficult time in our life. Her images of my son’s birth are sacred. What a priceless gift Kirstin gave to us. I will never be able to say thank you enough. If you’re wondering if you should hire her as a birth photographer, the investment is totally worth it. -Amanda
